The summer of 2015 saw the inauguration of a new long distance walk: a pilgrimage in honour of our famous local saint, Hilda of Whitby.
The walk was the idea of the then Rural Dean of Whitby, Revd Barry Pyke. It was researched and developed by Nancy and John Eckersley, well known authors of books on walking. It is known as St Hilda’s Way.
The walk was repeated, most successfully, as a family pilgrimage in 2016, and will be repeated again this year.

John Eckersley will be glad to provide further information as will
Sarah Wayell and
Andy and Jo Bowden, who will also provide booking forms.
